Fairyloot December 2021 unboxing – Dance With Death

This unboxing contains spoilers!

Theme of the box

Description by Fairyloot

We are so excited to reveal the December theme for our monthly box and it is… DANCE WITH DEATH!

We think we can all agree that most main characters in YA fantasy dance with death at some point in their journey but some even cross into the afterlife… and return. This box is dedicated to the most daring characters that risk it all regardless of what is at stake.

You can expect items inspired by Once Upon A Broken Heart, We Hunt The Flame, These Violent Delights, another NEW collectible item inspired by Hades & Persephone and a SECOND BOOK! The second book in this box is a newly released paperback about vampires and it will come with an exclusive cover and a digital signature.

Our featured book of the month is a thrilling and unforgettable mystery fantasy with ghosts, romance and so many fantastic characters to root for! This FairyLoot exclusive edition will have an EXCLUSIVE COVER, SPRAYED EDGES, ARTWORK ON THE REVERSE OF THE DUST JACKET by @emiliesnaith_art, FOIL EMBOSSING ON THE HARDCOVER by @emiliesnaith_art and will come with a SIGNED BOOKPLATE.

Item 1

What’s better than one book? Two books! The second book in this box is a paperback edition of The Coldest Touch by Isabel Sterling. This is a newly released title that fans of vampires will surely love. It features an exclusive cover and is digitally signed.

This book wasn’t on my radar at all but I spy the word vampires! I love vampires so I’m excited to read it.

Item 2 & 3

The second installment in our mini literary weapon letter opener replicas series is inspired by The Prince of Hearts’ (Jacks) dagger from Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber.

The iron on patch features Nasir’s tattoo from We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal and the design is created by none other than the author herself. You can find her on Instagram at @hafsahfaizal.

Oooh the dagger! I really love how this dagger looks. It’s gorgeous. The patch is also nice but I’m not really into those.

Item 4

We are also thrilled to introduce a new collectible series: mythology foil bookmarks! The first installment features Hades & Persephone by @gracezhuart.

These bookmarks are really gorgeous but I’m not sure if I want to collect them all. I’ll definitely be keeping these though.

Item 5

Keep your books safe with the new book sleeve designed by @celestialfang, which is inspired by These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong.

The art on the sleeve is gorgeous. It immediately makes me curious. The material is some kind of fake leather.

Item 6

This month’s collectible tarot cards are the Nine and Ten of Pentacles. They are illustrated by @lizzart_zardonicz and feature Eo and Victra from the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown.

Book

Our featured book of the month is Year of the Reaper by Makiia Lucier. It’s a thrilling and unforgettable mystery fantasy with ghosts, romance and so many fantastic characters to root for! Your FairyLoot exclusive edition has an exclusive cover, sprayed edges, artwork on the reverse of the dust jacket by @emiliesnaith_art, foil embossing on the hardcover by @emiliesnaith_art and comes with a signed bookplate. Don’t forget to read the author letter and check out the character print by @emiliesnaith_art on the other side too!

I really love the black cover. The original was red I believe. I’m curious to this story. This book wasn’t on my radar at all but it wouldn’t be the first time that I discover a gem thanks to a book box.

Bonus Items

The Lore inspired keychain designed by @ironandinkdesigns that was supposed to be in the November? box. It says “Bind your fate to mine”.

Conclusion

This box was full with pretty items and we got an extra book! It’s a great box to end the year with. Well, technically I started the year with it because my box arrived in January. Anyway, my favourite items of this box are the sleeve and the sword replica. I’m also very curious to both books. The foiled bookmarks are gorgeous too but I’m not sure if I’ll start collecting them.
